Warranty

We offer a lifetime warranty on our scissors where stated. If this is not stated in the product description then this does not apply. 

The warranty covers any manufacturing faults which deems the scissors no longer fit for purpose. In the unlikely event this should happen you will offer a replacement item, if the particular model is no longer available then an alternative will be offered to you at no extra charge. Refunds are not given at this point.

To make a warranty claim please send an email to info@theartofscissors.com with your name, order number, pictures, and a brief explanation. We may ask you to send the scissors back to us for inspection. This cost will be covered by you, please use a tracked service we can not be held accountable for lost packages in the postal system. Once the inspection is complete any replacements will be sent to you, we will cover the shipping costs of the return. 

Your warranty can and will be terminated for the following reasons.

In proper maintenance, should you fail to keep the scissors oiled and cleaned regularly. Damage caused by a build up of hair products and/or hair including corrosion will void your warranty. Oil not only lubricates metal parts and allows them to move with less friction, but oil also forms a protective barrier against rust. The principle here is pretty simple; with a coating of oil, moisture can't react with the metal and cause rust. Cleaned and oiled scissors will last a lifetime.

Damage caused by inferior sharpening techniques used. We offer a sharpening service and only authorize 1 trained professional to work on our scissors. Sending scissors back to us in substandard condition due to substandard sharpening will void your warranty. Our sharpening expert will inspect and make this call, that decision is final.

Plastic ring inserts are not covered in the lifetime warranty.

Paint wear and tear. Painted scissors can be prone to damage from rings or harsh cleaning products. This is normal and is not covered in your warranty. It is your responsibility to ensure care is taken to protect the product.

Damage caused by dropping scissors will void your warranty. Although can usually be repaired by our expert sharpener this service is not part of the warranty.  

Threatening and abusive behaviour towards employees or any representatives of Elite Steels Ltd will result in warranty being revoke and blocked from any further purchase from the business.

Case, cleaning cloth, ring inserts & oil applicator are not included in the warranty.

Periodic Sharpening is not covered in the warranty.
